The sold-out Masterclass with Burton was the hottest ticket in town last night. ACMI’s Cinema 2 was packed to the rafters, while fans braved the freezing cold in Fed Square to watch a live simulcast of the event on the big screen.

Somewhat appropriately, the crowd started gathering in the dead of night to secure a spot for the Tim Burton book signing at ACMI. By 8am the mass of shivering, but seriously enthused, Burtonites had swelled to intimidating dimensions.

Burt-mania kicked off in Melbourne on Wednesday with the opening of our new exhibition exploring the life and art of Tim Burton. As spotlights shone into a typically freezing Melbourne night, an array of enthused guests headed down the red carpet and into ACMI to pay homage to this unique creative genius.
