One day, Esther discovered that movies weren’t actually real, and she started to wonder who was responsible for them. Her favourite film is James and the Giant Peach because she loves peaches and it makes bugs seem alright. Esther says this was her most watched film as a 5-year-old. Also, it switches between live-action and stop-motion animation, and she wishes real life could do that. Also, Esther says that if Tim Burton had never made James and the Giant Peach, she probably wouldn’t be able to sing in tune today, for which her are family are very grateful!
Like Tim Burton, Esther is a fan of both crazy hair and Helena Bonham Carter. He has also inspired her to work with quirky themes and strange stories. Esther likes to be creative and has a lot of weird imaginings for impossible realities; her current Year 12 film is about the afterlife and dead people hanging out with the living. Which could be awkward.
Esther thinks that people should come and see Tim Burton’s art in the exhibition, because, in her words: “I would like them to know how much of a legend he is.”
Esther will be conducting a free tour of the Tim Burton Exhibition on Saturday 3 July 2010 at 11am. Come along and secure a spot in what will undoubtedly be a thought provoking and legendary introduction to the exhibition.
Numbers strictly limited (10 per tour). Normal exhibition fees apply.
