The Cube at ACMI recently played host to a small army of creative animators. Each school holidays our tirelessly inventive public programs team comes up with something interesting (and free) to fill the no-mans-land between bored kids and exasperated parents. With temperatures in the single digits outside, it was time to explore the chilly and creepy, but endlessly entertaining, world of Mr Tim Burton.
As usual we were astounded by the colour and creativity shown by our visitors as they feverishly created some wonderful stop-motion animations (with just a little bit of help from our kindly workshop facilitators).
It starts with the art: back to basics with some cutting, colouring, glueing and pinning.
Once everything was in order it was to time to bring out the technology to create some o’ that ol’ moving image.
And one of the finished products (this one is by Charlotte):

what a lovely blog!
