Meet our tour guide: Tango Conway

Spotlight on Tango

Tango knew she was destined to become a Tim Burton fan with a suburban-raised film-industry mother and a father of vaudevillian pedigree.

Her first glimpse of Burton was when she was eight, with the dark comedy Beetlejuice, and the ‘mind-blowing’ images became permanently embedded in her head. Tango’s favourite Burton films are Ed Wood and Big Fish but she thinks Edward Scissorhands is also a classic.

When she isn't leading tour groups, Tango likes to sketch...

Tango is a big fan of Tim Burton’s style, his sense of humour and the way he thinks. She is inspired by his ‘visual intensity’ and seeks a similar effect in her own art. She wants people to know more about the thought behind Tim’s creative work as well as his influences.

...and take photos.

Tango will be conducting a free tour of the Tim Burton Exhibition on Sunday 29 August 2010 at 11am. Numbers are strictly limited (10 per tour). Normal exhibition fees apply.

For a preview of what you’re likely to see on Tango’s tour, watch her Young Tour Guide application video here.

It ain’t over until it’s over i’m afraid. But duly noted and we appreciate your feedback regarding Burty fatigue. And you’re right, it’s not all about Burton here at ACMI. You’ll be pleased to know we have some very interesting posts on some of the other goings on at ACMI in our cinemas, studios and even Shanghai. Keep checking back.
