When our exhibitions design team started thinking about how best to represent the breadth of Tim’s amazing art and films both in and outside the exhibition, we decided as a starting point to go back to his early sketches and try and bring some of them to life.
Enter a Burton Wonderland

Last week, we put out a call for submissions for our Burton Wonderland Gallery – an online gallery of the weirdest and most wonderful original Burton-inspired artwork. The top ten works will be shortlisted by Tim Burton himself, and then we’ll throw it open to you to vote for the top pick.
Hopper hits the road

Last week, the time came to close the doors of Dennis Hopper and the New Hollywood. ACMI has been extremely fortunate to host these amazing works of art since November last year, many of which usually live on the walls of Dennis Hopper’s house in Venice Beach, Los Angeles.

When production wrapped up on the stop-motion animation film Mary and Max, Melodrama Pictures and writer/director Adam Elliot had to decide what to do with the enormous amount of material in their studio, which they had to vacate.
